Our Year 13 A Level Religious Education students were treated to a unique and enriching opportunity last week as Christopher Lamb, Vatican Correspondent for CNN, joined them for a live webinar. His expertise offered students a rare insider’s perspective on the life of the Church today and key themes linked directly to their exam studies.

During the session, Christopher explored the traditions and processes of papal elections, sharing what happens behind the scenes during a papal conclave and describing the atmosphere in Rome when the world awaits the announcement of a new pope. He also discussed the evolving role of women within the Vatican, a topic that resonated strongly with students currently studying Gender and Society and Theology.

Our students engaged with thoughtful and challenging questions, taking full advantage of the opportunity to connect classroom learning with real‑world Church leadership and global Catholic issues.

We are extremely grateful to Christopher for giving his time and for offering such valuable insight. His contribution has greatly enriched the students’ understanding and supported their A Level preparation.
